The workshop is dedicated to various issues of using blended learning in education, such as theoretical aspects (history, conceptual foundations, models and approaches), technical aspects (use of learning management systems, institutional learning with MOOCs, use of software tools for assessing learning achievements, organization of webinars/video conferences, use of mixed reality to create an immersive learning environment, use of simulators, virtual manipulators, and artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency and staffing of the educational process, online platforms to support collaboration and interaction between students and teachers), pedagogical aspects (didactic principles, methods and techniques of blended learning, organization of independent work, efficiency and effectiveness of learning) and practical experience of using blended learning. The program of BLESSED 2024 will include a contributed presentation of the accomplished work and work in progress. The workshop will be full day. Important Dates (23:59 Europe/Kyiv time) 12.12.2023 – paper submission deadline 04.04.2024 – acceptance notification 23.04.2024 – final submission deadline 01.05.2024 – registration deadline 15.05.2024 – workshop day Registration How much does it cost to join the workshop? You need to pay 75 GBP to register for the workshop (one payment per paper). How can I get a free registration? If you have written a paper that is related to one of the topics of the workshop, you might be eligible for a free registration. The Academy of Cognitive and Natural Sciences gives 7 Best Paper Awards every year to the best papers from Ukraine on each topic. If you win one of these awards, you don’t have to pay the registration fee. This is a great opportunity to show your excellent research and save some money. Topics of interest BLESSED topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: – Theoretical aspects of blended learning; – Technical aspects of blended learning; – Pedagogical aspects of blended learning; – Practical experience of using blended learning. Submission Types and Requirements BLESSED solicits (i) full research papers, (ii) discussion, survey, or problem analysis papers, (iii) short/research-in-progress papers. Submissions must be original and should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication while being evaluated for this workshop. Submission Guidelines The only language of BLESSED submissions is English. Due to promoting scientific communication, BLESSED live talks can be in any language (but we prefer English). Evaluation of Workshop Papers Every submission will be evaluated by at least three members of the BLESSED Program Committee. Based on evaluation results, the best papers will be accepted for their presentation at the workshop and publication in the proceedings. Publication of BLESSED 2024 Accepted papers will be submitted to the open access Journal of Physics: Conference Series (Online ISSN: 1742-6596 / publisher: IOP Publishing) in three months after the workshop. Presentation Accepted papers must be presented at the conference by one of their authors, who commit to register and attend the workshop. Workshop organizers will withdraw the paper from the publication if the author(s) do not attend the workshop. The International Conference on Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (ICon-MaSTEd) is a peer-reviewed international conference, which covers research on mathematics, science and technology education, along with technology-enhanced learning, including blended learning, E-learning, ICT-based assessment, mobile learning etc.
Since 2001, ICon-MaSTEd is the premier interdisciplinary forum for social scientists, academicians, researchers, professionals, policy makers, postgraduate students and practitioners to present their latest research results, ideas, developments, and applications. There is an urgent general need for principled changes in mathematics, science and technology education elicited by promising theories, models, tools, services, networks and communications.
We invite you to participate in the conference and look forward to fruitful cooperation.
Submission Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit full (and original research) papers (at least 6 pages) including surveys, tutorials, perspective/colloquia articles on conference topics of interest by December 12, 2023 (see https://icon-masted.easyscience.education/2024/#cfp for details). By submitting a paper an author and all co-authors are assumed to agree with the terms of the IOP Proceedings Licence.
Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by three reviewers on the basis of technical quality, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity. If necessary, a fourth, additional reviewer will be involved. The Program Committee will use these reviews to determine which papers will be accepted for presentation at the conference. The result of the review will be announced to the submitting authors by email, along with reviewer comments, if any.
