The Department of Chemistry and Methods of its Teaching was formed as a separate KSPU department since University establishment. The staff of the Department maintains the contacts with Kryvyi Rih Research Institute on the issues of studying the chemical condition and environmental protection; Kryvyi Rih National University, “Machining of ferrous metals” Research Institute on the research problems; Laboratory of Methodology of Chemistry and Biology Teaching of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; National Pedagogical Drahomanov University and the educational institutions of Kryvyi Rih region, investigating the actual problems of the methodology of Chemistry teaching.

Areas of the Department work:

- education: specialty “Secondary Education (Chemistry)”, degree of higher education: Bachelor and Master;

- culture and education: participation in different events and projects such as the Scientific Fun project 2014-2016, City of Occupations, School of Young Engineers (PJSC “Arcelor-Mittal-Kryvyi Rih”), School of Young Chemists (KSPU), which makes thematic excursions with chemical experiments for schoolchildren.

- science – “System of methods for Chemistry working with students”; “Chemical aspects of environmental problems of industrial centers and environmental education on the example of Kryvyi Rih region” (instructor L. Tomilina).
