General information:
The department was created in 2003 and since then has established a substantial reputation for its expertise in linguistics under the direction of professional academic staff. The objective of the Department of English Philology is to assist students in linguistic proficiency and cultures via the implementation of communication strategies. The subjects taught cover key areas in the study of modern English as well as British Literature, Intercultural Communication and Cultural Studies. The department aims at strengthening students’ opportunities for professional growth and climbing career ladders after their graduation as sought-after specialists in terms of the global market requirements.
 

Priority (key) areas of the Department Activity:
Current issues of the English language:
a) Studying peculiarities of English grammar structure functioning;
b) Examining aspects of English grammar structure functioning;
c) Defining expressive resources peculiarities at various levels of the English language.
Literature of English speaking countries within the sociocultural dimension:
a) Studying aspects of the interaction between literary and sociocultural processes in English-speaking countries;
b) Defining the nature of artistic pursuits, literary work genre peculiarities.
Modern technologies in the process of foreign languages teacher-training:
a) Studying of core fundamentals of future English teachers’ communicative competence and linguistic culture formation;
b) Systematizing means of future English teachers’ communicative competence and linguistic culture formation;
c) Assessments of the new technologies implementation in the process of teaching English and Literature;
d) Concretizing approaches to students’ self-study.
