We would like to announce the Seventh International Symposium on Recurrence Plots which will be held at the Escola Politécnica, São Paulo, Brazil, August 23-25, 2017.
Since 1987, recurrence plots (RP) and recurrence quantification analysis (RQA) have become important research tools for the nonlinear description of short, noisy and non-stationary data sets. Theoretical work on and practical applications of RPs have reached considerable maturity. The popularity of these methods continues to expand into diverse areas such as mathematics, neuroscience, genetics, psychology, meteorology, financial systems, and linguistics to name a few.
The objective of this Seventh Symposium is to encourage the exchange of knowledge and to stimulate new ideas among scientists working in fields studying time/space-varying signals. It has been 30 years since recurrence plots were first introduced into the scientific literature. And since then the theoretical and practical aspects of the methodology has grown immensely with no end in sight.
This symposium will provide a unique forum to facilitate the correlation of recent theoretical developments in recurrence science with insights derived from various scientific disciplines. Abstracts representing theoretical and/or applied contributions that effectively implement recurrence plots/quantifications are encouraged.
Participants are invited to present their recurrence-based studies in the form of contributed talks or posters. The attendance by junior scientists who will carry these ideas into the future are also welcome.

The deadline for registration and abstract submission is April 3, 2017. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. It would be appreciated if you would advertise this meeting to your associates, including your PhD students, postdocs and junior researchers. We apologize for multiple postings. However, if you desire that your name be removed from the mailing list, just ask us and we will comply.
With the kindest regards,
The scientific organizers
