The Department of the English Language with Methods of Teaching was established in April, 2003. Presently the Department comprises 21 experienced lecturers including 2 Doctors of Science, 15 PhD (Candidates of Science), 9 Associate Professors. The head of the Department is Iryna Salata Candidate of Philological Sciences (Ph.D.), Associate Professor.

The Department trains teachers-to-be of the following specialities:

- 014 Secondary Education (Language and Literature (English)), additional speciality 014 Secondary Education (Language and Literature (German));

- 014 Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature), additional speciality 014 Secondary Education (Language and Literature (English));

- 013 Primary Education, additional speciality 014 Secondary Education (Language and Literature (English)).

Curricula of the Department focus on the fundamental disciplines in order to graduate high-qualified specialists in the philological and pedagogical professional field.

The members of the Department conduct research work, participate in All-Ukraine and International conferences in issues of philology and methods of teaching English.
