Two of our students, Arina Popova and Yevheniia Horbal, are successfully completing their semester of in-person studies in Poland, gaining invaluable international experience.
This opportunity became possible thanks to the fruitful cooperation and agreement between the University in Słupsk and KSPU.
During the spring semester of 2025, our students have immersed themselves in the academic life of a European university, and their studies will continue until the end of July.

Success stories in their own words:

Arina Popova:
"Hello, everyone! In 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to take part in a semester exchange program at the University in Słupsk.
This has been not only an academic journey but also an immensely valuable personal experience.
In class, teachers place a strong emphasis on developing language skills, and every day I get to communicate with peers from Poland and from around the world.
Studying here has helped me significantly improve my English, adapt to a new environment, and become more confident, independent, and open to new challenges.
I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and wholeheartedly encourage every student to take part in an exchange program. This experience will stay with me forever and will continue to enrich my life!"

Yevheniia Horbal:
"It's been four months since I started studying at the University in Słupsk as part of an exchange program. The classes have been extremely interesting, diverse, and at times challenging — especially because I had only studied online before.
But here, I have the opportunity to attend classes in person, and it has yielded fantastic results! I’ve already noticed a significant improvement in my English.
In addition to my studies, I’ve had the chance to travel extensively, meet new and interesting people, and visit many amazing places throughout Poland!"

On April 22, 2024, a webinar entitled "Estonian experience in syllabus development," led by Anu Leuska from Tartu University, delved into the intricacies of crafting curricula tailored specifically for the needs of educators in schools and social workers. The focal point was the creation of an elective course titled "Introduction to Crisis Intervention." Leuska's presentation shed light on the meticulous procedures involved in structuring and populating these courses to ensure educators are adequately prepared to handle crisis cases with children (grief, bullying, suicidal behaviour) in educational settings.

A notable highlight was the delineation of a standardized process of syllabus development comprising five key steps: firstly, conceptualizing the course and assessing its contemporary relevance; followed by discussions with program guarantors; then, the formulation of clear objectives, tasks, and a succinct course description; encoding the course for seamless integration into the Moodle platform; and finally, the meticulous preparation of syllabus and course materials for Moodle.

The webinar attracted participation from teams representing all partner universities, fostering rich discussions on effective communication strategies within the courses and the optimal balance between in-person and online learning formats throughout the 16-week course duration. Attendees also raised queries regarding the formulation of course tasks, including the integration of case studies and assessment methods, and the utilization of various integrated tools to enhance learning outcomes.

Of particular significance was the emphasis on a course designed for teachers and social workers, focusing on managing crises involving children. Assessment for this course was structured to heavily weigh seminar attendance (75%) alongside independent work (25%). Additional topics of discussion included tracking student engagement with the course, employing task analytics for monitoring learning progress, quantitatively evaluating communication effectiveness, and providing comprehensive course overviews.

Representatives of KSPU Oksana Ostroushko - First Vice-Rector, Associate Professor of the Department of Translation and Slavic Philology, Kateryna Bondar, Olena Shestopalova, Olena Charkina - representatives of the Department of Practical Psychology, Olha Bilozir - Head of the Department of International Relations, Senior Lecturer of the Department of English Language and Methods of its Teaching and others took part in the event too.
