The Department of Physics and Methods of its Teaching has formed four main ways of research work:

- theoretical and applied research on Solid State Physics issues;

- research on the Methods of Teaching Physics in higher education institutions and in secondary education institutions;

- development and implementation of small Physics equipment for Physics education laboratories, built on the basis of modern fiber-optic, optoelectronic and digital technologies;

- development of research fundamentals and techniques for measuring parameters of geophysical processes.
