The Department of Tourism and Economics was established by university order on 01.09.2020.

This is a completely new department, the teaching staff of which was formed as a result of the reorganisation of the Department of Physical Geography, Local History and Tourism and the Department of Sociology and Economics.

The Department of Tourism and Economics consists of teachers of tourism disciplines (Associate Professors, Candidates of Geographical Sciences Volodymyr Kazakov, Viktoriia Patsiuk, Iryna Ostapchuk, Daria Shian, Candidate of Geological Sciences Oleksandr Matishchuk) and teachers of economics (Associate Professors, Candidates of Economic Sciences Olena Korovina, Vadym Bayura, Economist and Senior Lecturer Liudmyla Bratchenko).

Volodymyr Kazakov was elected and approved as the Head of the Department.

The staff of the department emphasised that Tourism is a branch of recreation, leisure and economy. The Department's lecturers provide teaching of a number of economic disciplines at the university level and specialised disciplines of the speciality 242 "Tourism and Recreation".
