At the beginning of September, KSPU traditionally joins the celebration of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports.

     This year’s celebration began with the words of the hosts, who set the participants in a positive mood. The Rector of KSPU, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Full Professor, Ya. V. Shramko, addressed the audience with an introductory speech (translated): “Traditionally, our University celebrates the Day of Physical Culture and Sports. This event is of great importance, as physical culture and sports are the necessary component of everyone’s development. Students’ life is very rich, colorful and diverse, and its important part is youth participation in sports events, sections and university competitions. We are proud of our students, who achieve victories in various contests and competitions not only at the city, regional and national levels, but also at international levels”.

     During the celebration there was an awarding of the students-winners in the specialty “Physical Culture” of Faculty of Natural Sciences for their personal contribution to the development and promotion of student sport in KSPU.

     The demonstration performance in rhythmic gymnastics was prepared by the freshman, candidate for master of sports, Viktoriia Fomina.

    L.V.Burman (Ph.D, Assoc., the chairman of the primary trade union organization of KSPU) has joined to the greetings and thanked the sports community of KSPU for their numerous victories and achievements. In accordance with the approved resolution, she announced the awarding of students and teachers of the university with cash prize.

     Simanovskyi Vladyslav, the 3-rd year student, champion of Ukrain in hand-to-hand combat, presented his performance in karate-do.

     N. H. Makarenko, the teacher of Department of Physical Culture and Methods of Teaching, was invited to announce the order of competitions and master-classes.

     After the festive part of the celebration, various sportive competitions and master-classes took place, namely: light athletics (1500 m running), weightlifting, chess blitz tournament, step-aerobics master-class, volleyball match (KSPU – SC “Bohatyr”), martial arts master class and fitness. The participants took the appropriate places in the standings according to their achievements:

     Light athletics:

* men:

1-st place: Artem Stavnychyi (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics);

2-nd place: Denys Lebid (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics);

3-rd place: Victor Onofriichyk (Faculty of Natural Sciences).

* women:

1-st place: Mariia Kharahim (Faculty of Ukrainian Philology);

2-nd place: Alina Khudolovych (Faculty of Foreign Languages);

3-rd place: Diana Ushchipovska (Faculty of Arts).

     Weightlifting:

1-st place: Maksym Mystivskyi (Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogics);

2-nd place: Maksym Vasylenko (Faculty of Geography, Tourism and History);

3-rd place: Viktor Korotysh (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics).

     The winner of chess competition was Ihor Prytula, student of Faculty of Natural Sciences.
